I am normally a size 12-14 in many brands, but I am currently 33 weeks pregnant. I purchased this dress in a 14 because I refuse to buy maternity clothes - most are so cheaply made and I learned from my first pregnancy that it's just not worth it. The dress is gorgeous and beautifully made. The buttons and the toggles on the wrap are gold and a bit heavy, but they add to the overall drape of the dress. Like a previous reviewer, it has all sorts of buttons and the wrap was a bit confusing as the dress came shipped from a store and had obviously not been packaged as it was originally was supposed to be - it was wrapped/balled up in the box. Not very nice. I suggest figuring it out on the hanger first, then loosely tying the wrap and then sliding the dress over your head instead of trying to wrap it while it is on. My husband came in and saw me turning in circles as I tried to reach around my belly to find the wrap belt ends. Eventually, he helped me. The slip underneath can be unbuttoned from the dress, but as you can figure, it's not easy to get the little inside shoulder straps rebuttoned once the dress is on. However, once I figured out how to get in the dress, it fit beautifully - even for being pregnant. The wrap gave me the extra space - admittedly, I am "all baby" and have not gained much - but I can see that this dress will fit me nicely even without a big belly protruding out from under it. I would say that it fits a little larger, but can't really tell for sure. One thing to note, is that it is a thin silk wrap over a slip. The slip is shorter than the wrap, so the dress overall can look a bit shorter than it actually is. I'm only 5'5" and the length isn't an issue, but it might look shorter on a taller woman. That being said, I love it and think it is beautiful...and feel beautiful in it even at 33 weeks pregnant. Thank you, DVF! April 20, 2013
It looked so pretty but I sent it back. It was the most difficult dress to get into! Many, many tiny buttons from top to bottom and also ties! I gave up! March 4, 2013
