The backs of these stones are a painted mirror finish. There is no visible topaz " stone " on the backs. Just some paint. Made in China. February 27, 2013

Pretty from the front but the backside of the earrings are not smokey topaz-they look like a painted mirror. Although I've worn them a few times I think they will be better suited for summer styles. Gad they were on sale because they were not worth the full retail price. Suggest that more pictures be online. February 3, 2013
