I wanted a pair of classic black leather pumps with removable ankle straps. This was ideal to the look. I was worried about the height. though I am a skilled heel-wearer going for an actual height(heel-platform) over 3 1/2" is always a risky business. But I took a chance with these beauties because the front platform looked sturdy and comfy. They are in fact stable/well balanced for 4" heels. But honestly, not comfortable. If you're not a everyday heel lover, these might not be the one for you. They are beautiful and well made. leather is soft and edges are clean. I am a 7 but I go for 7.5 for boots or strapy sandals. I would have gone for 7.5 because the ankle straps will hold these on to your feet even if they're a bit roomy. But wanted to have the option of wearing them without straps and got 7. fits true to size but keeps falling off my heels without the straps. footbeds have minimal cushion. you'll need Dr.Scholls for this one. If you don't mind a little extra room for your toes and planning to only wear them with straps attached, size up half a size. It's a little narrow fitting in the front at first but leather loosens up to you soon enough. March 3, 2013
