I'm on the hunt for the perfect simple black leather boot to invest in. I loved the clean look and the toe on Sam Edelman shoes is really attractive to me and on my foot in my opinion. I figured I could get away with folding down the remy piece into the boot as I didn't care for it at all, and that did work on me. I agree with the previous reviewer the boot is slouchy around my ankle and the slouch is unavoidable I believe, so these didn't hit the mark for me. The part of the boot around your foot and top of the calf with the trick of folding the remy piece down are perfect for me as I'm tiny at 5'0" 110lbs, but the slouchiness was a deal breaker for me so back these went. Also I normally take a 6 in regular shoes and grabbed the 6.5 in these boots because I like the extra room for use in cold weather. October 22, 2012
The boots are gorgeous in person. The reason I returned my pair is because I found the ankle area very wide and I could tell after a few wears they would inevitably slouch. I prefer a more tailored look but keeping in mind the price, it is a great deal. September 27, 2012
