Material is thin and I can see why the recommendation is "hand wash." However, having said that, it seems to work for the summer weather. Like the design and the chambray color which lends itself for a great pairing with jeans. As stated on the site , the shirt is a modern fit..so you may want to consider ordering a size up if you prefer a more relaxed fit. Pleased to get this item at a reduced price ! August 2, 2012
