THESE ARE MADE FOR WIDE CALVES. Why do manufacturers insist on making boots too high and too wide? lets just put it this way - i my calf filled a 15" circumference, i would NOT be stuffing my legs in skinny jeans and a riding boot - they would be in work out gear and on their way to the gym. moreover, its more flattering when the boot lands mid calf - not right to the knee / manufacturers, please figure it out!!!! the boots are wonderfully crafted, but went back. i am a 8.5/9 and bought a 9, but these were too long. i remain without new boots this year - mid march........... great walking boot, great with everything. careful with the heel. mine fell off. at least it happened early on before it was worn out. so quality control may have lacked on my pair. i would add something skid proof under the toe. I walked all over NY when it was raiining and it felt like i could've slipped. December 16, 2012
