Boots run approximately 1/2 size large. I usually wear a 9 and ended up going with an 8. As a result, I find the boots to be slightly constrictive width-wise at the ball of my foot. Hopefully with time and a bit more wear, the leather will stretch providing a snug, comfy fit.
Speaking of leather, its incredibly soft, thick and pliable. Very nice feeling. Its also got a fantastic matte texture and a beautiful color gradient on it. Like what you'd expect on a nice leather jacket that's nicely worn in.
The only other thing I will comment on are the laces. Lacing the boots is always a bit of a chore, as the lacing style (examine the photo to see what I mean) is somewhat cumbersome. I would have preferred simple eyelets for ease, however looks most likely would have suffered had they chosen this. Also, the laces run long. I've personally taken to wrapping them around the ankle before knotting them in the front to accommodate the extra length.
All in all, they are beautiful and relatively comfortable out of the box.

I was immediately impressed with the quality of the leather and the craftsmanship that went into preparing these boots. The leather has a very rich color and is soft to the touch. However, it is thick and appears to be quite durable. The boots bear obvious signs of hand manufacturing and finishing, which I find refreshing. The boots feel a bit narrow fresh out of the box, but after adjusting the leather laces and wearing them around the house, they quickly conformed to my feet. I am impressed with the Vintage Shoe Company, and am looking for my next pair.
