I bought these in blue and the whiskey. The blue fit perfectly, the whiskey was tighter. The leather on both is very nice. March 23, 2013
Purchased these boots twice. Had to return both times. first ordered size 7. Fit was like size 8. Reordered in 6-1/2, and as another buyer commented, the fit was good but felted narrow. I loved them and thought to just have them stretched but thought it was best to just return. Surprise that "Made in USA" would have such discrepancy of 1/2 size up or down. March 20, 2013
Beautifully made boots, substantial, plenty of cushioning--just superb. BUT: Sizing could be a problem. I tried these in three different sizes. I usually wear a 9B in boots (Frye, Old Gringo), but I ordered a 9.5B, because that's the size I usually wear in VSC boots. WAY too large. So I then ordered the 9B. Still too large. So I then ordered the 8.5B, which fit perfectly in the length (with plenty of room for toes) but was too narrow for comfort. If you have a narrow foot, and usually wear a 9 in boots, the 8.5 will be perfect for you. I also ordered these boots in the blue color, in the same size, and the width was fine. But had to send both pair back, as the tan was too narrow (as noted above) and the blue was defective (weird crease on the front of the shaft). If you can find the correct sizing, and the boot has no defect, you will be thrilled. Really. March 1, 2013
I wore these boots for the first time yesterday. I put them on at 830a and did not take them off until 8p. They are super comfortable. The sole has cushioning in it; not just a hard, flat sole like most boots/shoes. I typically wear an 8.5 in boots and, therefore, ordered the 8.5. These fit well and have a little extra room in them, but nothing that caused rubbing; so not too tight, not snug, but a really great it. I did not wear socks, but totally could have. This is my first pair of Vintage Shoe Company shoes and I will definitely be on the prowl for more. Great buy! February 17, 2013
I'm in love with this boot! Their sleek, yet relaxed look make them super versatile and they are so comfortable! The brown hue of the boot in the pic is dead-on, if you ask me. The leather is strong yet maleable. EXACTLY what I was looking for. After reading the other reviews, I went into my LC store to try them on and luckily they had them in my usual size (9.5) and in a half-size up and down. I found that they DO run a half size big (I bought a 9), but that the width of your toes makes a HUGE difference in whether they'll fit you big, small or true to size because the toe box is somewhat narrow. My left foot is wider than my right foot because of previous surgeries and while the 9 fits my left foot pretty snugly, my right foot has lots of wiggle room because it can slide further into the toe box. If you're considering buying this boot, I think you should consider your toe width to determine whether you should go down a size or stick with your usual size. February 1, 2013
I listened to other reviews and sized down to a 7.5 for my normally size 8 foot. DON'T DO THIS! I am unfortunately returning the shoe and praying praying praying that they have the 8 available. Shoe itself is very much like the picture, brown is a bit darker than it appears but in no way does it even border on a chocolate brown (another one of my fears, based on previous reviews). I searched for a short brown "cowboy-inspired" boot for two years before purchasing this one. Trust me, no other company makes something like this, not for this price anyway. Purchase your true size, ignore the other reviews. I wish I did. January 27, 2013
Gorgeous leather in and out boots- sleek to put on, great look! Fantastic comfort once you get your size- usually wear 9.5 took these in 9. Loved the tan so much, ordered the blue a few days later- great with all wardrobes, from casual to chic. quality all the way through, and made in the USA! which is great...even if it's not Italy - leather is strong, soft, sleek and elegant for a cowboy upscale feel, comfort and all day look! I read the reviews and acted accordingly. I usually wear 10-1/2 or 11. I ordered a 10 and it was definitely too small. I would have ordered an 11. I returned them without an exchange because I found these boots to be very stiff. I love a softer more glove-like fit for a boot. These do not fit that criteria. If you have a larger foot like me that is not necessarily wide, order your true size. January 12, 2013
