Designer Gita Zeltzer, a former actress, came up with the concept of XCVI as a way to bring relaxed chic to the center stage of fashion. Influenced by the "urban chaos" of Los Angeles, she took the multi-layered cultural elements of everyday life as her inspiration and developed wearable, breathable clothing for women who believe in style but also believe in comfort. Introduced in 1996, the line's name comes from the Roman numerals for that year.

I am 5 5" and usually wear a 12-14, depending on the designer and fit. I am six months pregnant and wear a 16 as my belly has expanded. This is very pretty and well constructed. It fits loosely around my belly. My only complaint is how very long it is. It is practically a dress. It would look fabulous on a willowy frame with a pair of tights. But I am not willowy! Because it is pretty and nicely constructed, I am keeping it and taking it to my tailor to have shortened to look better on my frame. I love the light fabric and the soft off white color. (I abhor polyester, so finding pretty tops in natural fabrics at a reasonable price is always a challenge.) March 3, 2013
