FitFlop was founded in 2007 by Marcia Kilgore with the idea to create the perfect combination of biomechanics, comfort, and fashion in a shoe. Marcia set out to study the movement of the body and engineer their shoes accordingly to promote optimal body alignment and complement people's natural walking style. Collaborating with two British biomechanics, she created a triple-density Microwobbleboard midsole and launched the WALKSTAR sandal. Since then, she has created the newer SupercomFF midsole, engineered to diffuse underfoot pressure and deliver ergonomic comfort, allows FitFlop to offer an even wider range of silhouettes. FitFlop uses these techniques in sandals, ballerina flats, booties, and more.
